The goaltending duo of Travis Rolheiser and Vince Marozzi led the Saints to a record setting 11 shutouts in 2009-2010, a record also obtained by the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in 2005-2006 (60 game schedule). Oilers Announce Benefit Game
After starting out the season in last place in the South Division, the Okotoks Oilers fought their way up the standings to secure their first ever South Division Title last Thursday in Canmore with a win over the Eagles. With the regular season commencing on Sunday. The Oilers now have a 2 week break in their schedule, as they await their opponent in the second round. This game will not only give the Oilers a chance to face some competition before the playoffs, but it will also give them the opportunity to give back to the community, which has been extremely supportive this season. "With the economy being as it was in September, combined with our record in the first month, it was hard to believe there were fans in the seats and sponsors calling every week, but there were", explains Marketing Manager Dallas Hand. "Everybody was a believer in this team, from the coaching staff, all the way to the volunteers. Our success would not have been possible without the support of our fans, sponsors, and volunteers, and this is an excellent opportunity for us to give back to them." The Oilers will also be accepting donations at the game for the hospice, who rely on community support for 85% of their $650,000 operating fund. The Foothills Country Hospice serves over 90,000 rural Albertans in the Foothills as well as the citizens of Calgary. Legacy of Sharing Continues
Don Sydora and the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs started things off by presenting the foundation with $9,000 raised through their "hair cut night" earlier this year. The team partnered with Techniques on the fundraiser, which included raising money through haircuts and the auctioning of special jerseys worn by the Pontiacs during the game. Lidgett Commits to Colgate University
"John is one of the hardest working players on our team, he has met and exceeded all expectations the coaching staff has set for him," stated Royals Head Coach Jeff Peters. The Calgary Royals would like to congratulate John and his family for reaching one of his goals in hockey, and look forward to the continued success of his development. The 20-year-old Salmon Arm, B.C. native - who spent parts of three seasons in the Western Hockey League with Prince George and Seattle before joining the Bobcats - will suit up next season for the York University Lions, who play in the Ontario University Athletics' West Division. "Right now, York is focused on getting back into the top-10 in the nation," said Hohmann, who has 38 points in 54 games this season. "I kind of wanted to head out east to see a different part of the country, so being able to be in Toronto - which is kind of like the centre of the hockey universe - it's just a good fit to be with a good program at a top-ranked school." After capturing four straight OUA titles from 1984-88, the Lions are rebuilding under new head coach Jim Wells, who says players like Hohmann are just what the program is looking for. "Chad is a character guy who has a lot of upside and potential after spending a lot of time in major junior and Tier 2 hockey," said Wells. "But the first thing we are recruiting - along with talent - is quality people. We are trying to get the best possible people we can here. "We feel Chad can come in and be a rugged forward that can compete right away and continue to get better." Projected to step into the Lions' lineup next season as a top nine forward who will see some time on the penalty kill as well, Hohmann says having an idea of where he fits into the picture is reassuring. "I have talked to Jim about what his expectations are of me," said Hohmann, who toured the campus and the hockey facilities during a fly-down to Toronto last weekend. "And for him to project me to be in the top nine for next year is good to hear, in that I won't be going in completely blind." Wells said Hohmann will have every opportunity to come in and compete for significant ice time right off the bat, with the head coach hopeful Hohmann will eventually develop into a go-to offensive threat in a division that boasts a number of talented teams. "With only 28 games in our league, every game means something," said Wells. "Of those, 13 are against top-10 teams in the country, so there's no room for a night off. We need very competitive guys, and a guy like Chad is a great fit for the type of program we are trying to put together."

They were teammates with the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Bonnyville Pontiacs, had lockers next to each other, and lived on the same block. She had a car, and he needed lifts to the rink. After practice, they would go for lunch at the all-you-can-eat buffet. Back then, about five years ago, Shannon Szabados and Matthew Cook, both of Edmonton, were teenagers chasing hockey dreams. Read More Knelsen Garners CCHA Player of the Week HonoursFor the first time in school history, three Alaska Nanooks men's hockey players have simultaneously earned Central Collegiate Hockey Association player of the week honours. Senior Dion Knelsen (Three Hills, AB) is the Offensive Player of the Week, sophomore Scott Greenham (Addison, ON) is the Reebok Goalie of the Week and freshman Andy Taranto (Woodridge, IL) is the CCM Rookie of the Week for the week of February 22. The trio played a big hand in helping the then-ranked No. 20 Nanooks to a series sweep of the Lake Superior State Lakers last weekend at the Carlson Center. Alaska blanked LSSU 4-0 on Friday and then sealed the deal with a 5-1 triumph on Saturday. The back-to-back victories were the first for the Blue and Gold in a weekend series since the opening weekend of CCHA play, when they swept Ferris State at home 3-1 and 3-2 (OT) on Oct. 30-31. It also helped them climb three spots to No. 17 in this week's USCHO.com/CBS Online Poll and to No. 11 in the unofficial Men's Division I PairWise Rankings. Knelsen had a goal, four assists and a plus three rating on the weekend, with all four assists coming in Friday night's win. He was the game's second star on Friday and now has 16-16-32 through 32 games this year as well as 42-67-109 through 141 career games. He is second on the team in scoring, seventh in the CCHA for points, tied for third in CCHA goals. It is the first time this season an Alaska forward garnered Offensive Player of the Week and the first since he won the award on Oct. 13, 2008. The No. 17 Nanooks closeout their regular-season schedule this weekend with a home-and-home series against their arch-rivals the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves for the 17th Annual Alaska Airline's Governor's Cup series. The series is tied 8-8 and the Nanooks are looking to snap the Seawolves four-year streak by capturing their first Governor's Cup since 2005. Eidsness WCHA Defensive Player of the Week
